TROPICAL WEDDINGS
Every little girl dreams about her wedding day….the big, white wedding gown, her handsome groom in his custom made tux, 350 red roses, the sun shining, the sky clear and the waves gently lapping on the shore…
Although Seychelles is the perfect destination for an island wedding, couples need to keep in mind that Seychelles is a tropical island and weather cannot be special ordered. It is hot, it is humid and wearing a traditional wedding dress and tux is not necessarily the best way to go… so why not go against the grain and choose matching sarongs or a really lightweight dress for the bride and casual attire for the groom? It is your wedding so why not make it one to remember!
As Seychelles is a million miles from anywhere and the climate is more suited to orchids and frangipanis, roses are not always available.
It is recommended that couples arrive in Seychelles at least two or three days before the day of the wedding to discuss wedding details with the co-coordinator. Weddings can be booked with us beforehand but you will still need to choose the location for the service. Weddings may be conducted on the beach, on a jetty or even in a garden pavilion – there are a number of locations to choose from so you will need time to choose the best spot for you.
The wedding service lasts between fifteen and twenty minutes and is conducted by a Registrar in accordance with Seychelles Law. Weddings are possible from Monday to Friday between 14h00 to 17h00 but different times may however be requested. No ceremonies are conducted on Public Holidays. Should you wish to hire a photographer on the day, it should be noted that the photographers do not necessarily meet the same high standard as photographers elsewhere.
Whether you are planning a simple “elopement style” ceremony for two or a grand party with 50 guests or more, a wedding in Seychelles is the stuff from which dreams are woven and memories are made.
For those wishing to get married on one of the private islands (North, Bird, Alphonse etc) it must be noted that you will be required to fly a Registrar to and from that island as well as pay for his accommodation while there.
